My little heart attack maker

Emmalyn has already given me a few heart attacks, and I have a feeling I should prepare my heart for a million more after she's born!

Heart attack number one happened when Birthmom fell the other day, and we spent 24 hours in the observation room. Birthgrandma and I slept intermittenly on the floor, and that nearly killed us. Birthmom was really uncomfortable, and I wish there was something more we could have done for her. She was finally able to have a painkiller, and that made her loopy. We were up until about 4:30 in the morning talking about anything and everything.

The next morning, we learned that bloodwork showed a possible tear in the placenta...Heart attack number two. We had to stay all day for a series of bloodtests to make sure Emmalyn and Birthmom were alright.

Just before I left school to take Birthmom to a monitoring appointment, Birthgrandma called to tell me she was pretty confident Emmalyn was going to be born this weekend...heart attack number three (only this was a good one, because we want nothing more than for her to be born!).

My daughter has me wrapped around her tiny little finger already, and her entire soul is wrapped around my heart.

I truly cannot wait to hold her in my arms for the first time, kiss her chubby little cheeks, and tell her how much I love her!
